GNCM represents individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and unincorporated associations in a wide range of business litigation matters. We handle contractual and business matters including:

  • Breach of fiduciary duties in limited partnerships and closely held corporations

  • Breach of contract

  • Enforceability of non-competition covenants

  • Corporate freeze outs

  • Interference with advantageous business relationships

  • Trade disparagement

  • Unfair and deceptive business practices

  • Misappropriation of trade secrets

  • Corporate mismanagement

We specialize in litigating the emergency business case and have unparalleled experience in obtaining injunctive relief and other interim security in order to preserve assets and protect rights pending a resolution by trial. The following cases are a small sampling of business litigation matters we have handled:

  • We obtained a $610,000 jury verdict in Norfolk County Superior Court on behalf of a tenant whose landlord misrepresented the availability of insurance in order to induce the tenant to make improvements. The judge tripled the jury award and added attorney's fees as punitive damages for the landlord's unfair and deceptive practices, bringing the total award to just under $2 Million.

  • We obtained injunctive relief to recover a $145,000 automobile that had been misappropriated by fraud.

  • We have successfully enforced non-competition covenants on behalf of employers in danger of losing goodwill as the result of a departing employee.

  • We have successfully defended departing employees against employers who wrongfully seek enforcement of unduly restrictive employment covenants.

  • We recently obtained a $50,000 verdict in a contempt action brought against a client's former partner for his wrongful withdrawal and conversion of funds from a partnership account after we had obtained a Court Order compelling him to account for the funds.

  • We secured a $400,000 settlement on behalf of a client who had been defamed in his business.

  • We obtained an injunction against a bank that prevented it from wrongfully foreclosing on property and then successfully resolved the case on terms favorable to our client.
